Vietnam is one of the most exciting destinations in Asia for cycling, offering an incredible mix of landscapes, culture, and cuisine. Our Vietnam bike tours take you beyond the typical travel routes, guiding you through quiet countryside roads, lush rice paddies, mountain highlands, and spectacular coastal scenery.
Cycling in Vietnam lets you experience the country at the perfect pace. Ride through traditional villages, coffee and tea plantations in the Central Highlands, and scenic coastal roads overlooking the South China Sea. Along the way, meet welcoming locals, explore vibrant markets, and enjoy some of the best food in Southeast Asia.
Our Vietnam cycling tours are fully supported with experienced guides, quality support vehicles, and carefully selected hotels that provide comfort after each day’s ride. In Vietnam, a fully guided and supported tour is not just a convenience — it’s what unlocks the best routes, experiences, and overall journey.
This was a genuinely great cycling experience from start to finish with Live Love Ride.
The Saigon-to-Hoi An route is clearly well-designed. There is a real effort to prioritize sightseeing and keep riders away from busy, high-traffic roads, which makes a huge difference in Vietnam.
The variety across the tour is one of its biggest strengths. You move from flat rides in the Mekong Delta to rolling terrain through coffee plantations, then into flatter coastal roads with some gravel sections. The tour finishes in Hoi An, a more tourist-oriented World Heritage city, which works perfectly as a final destination.
What truly elevates this tour is how the guides connect the riding with local life. During several stages, they made a point of stopping at silk-producing family workshops and coffee plantations, giving us real insight into how people live and work in the regions we were cycling through. It never felt staged or rushed, just genuine and respectful. The rides also often started at excellent local coffee shops. Proper coffee, relaxed starts, and a great way to begin long days on the bike.
A big shout-out to the guides, Thay and Ricardo. Their local knowledge, attention to detail, and calm leadership made the whole experience feel smooth and well cared for, both on and off the bike.
Support during the rides was excellent. Water and refueling stops were consistently well planned, with plenty of fresh, natural fruit and coconuts. Exactly what you want in the heat.
Meals were another highlight. Restaurants were carefully selected, with consistently tasty Vietnamese food and influences from Chinese and Thai cuisine. You really get a sense of regional flavors rather than generic tourist fare.
Accommodation was comfortable throughout the tour, with some hotels offering spas, which was a big plus after long days of riding.
Overall, this tour delivers on all fronts: strong route design, excellent logistics, great food, cultural depth, and a genuine sense of place.
I would absolutely go back.
Why Vietnam is One of the Best Cycling Destinations in the World
Vietnam has quickly emerged as one of Asia’s most compelling destinations for cyclists, offering an exceptional combination of diverse landscapes, rich culture, and rewarding riding.
From lush rice paddies and jungle-covered mountains to dramatic coastlines and historic towns, the country delivers remarkable variety within a single journey. Cycling allows you to experience this diversity at the perfect pace, covering meaningful distance while remaining fully connected to the landscape, the culture, and everyday life along the way:
Unlike traditional travel, riding through Vietnam brings you beyond the main routes and into quieter, more authentic settings. Backroads wind through farming villages, coastal communities, and rural landscapes where daily life unfolds naturally, creating a journey that is as immersive as it is scenic.
The Best Regions for Vietnam Bike Tours
One of the defining strengths of Vietnam as a cycling destination is the sheer variety of terrain and scenery riders can experience in a single trip.
Southern Vietnam and the Mekong Delta offer gentle, scenic riding through tropical farmland and river landscapes. This region is known for its network of waterways, floating markets, and endless rice paddies, making it an ideal introduction to Vietnam by bike.
Further north, the Central Highlands bring cooler temperatures and more varied terrain. Rolling hills covered in coffee plantations, tea fields, and pine forests create a striking contrast to the lowlands. The mountain town of Da Lat is a highlight, known for its mild climate, distinctive architecture, and relaxed atmosphere.
Vietnam’s central coastline is among the most scenic in Southeast Asia. Quiet coastal roads pass fishing villages, dramatic cliffs, and long stretches of untouched beach along the South China Sea. Destinations such as Quy Nhon and Tuy Hoa remain largely undiscovered by international travellers, offering a more refined and authentic coastal experience.
Many cycling journeys conclude in historic towns such as Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its lantern-lit streets, riverside cafés, and beautifully preserved architecture. After days on the bike, it provides a memorable and atmospheric finish to the journey.

Fully Guided and Supported Vietnam Bike Tours
Exploring Vietnam by bike is at its best when everything is taken care of, allowing you to focus entirely on the experience.
A fully guided and supported tour transforms the journey from a logistical challenge into a seamless travel experience. Expert local guides not only lead the route but also provide insight into Vietnam’s culture, history, and daily life, adding depth and context to each day on the road.
A dedicated support vehicle follows throughout the journey, providing mechanical assistance, refreshments, and the flexibility to adjust each day’s ride as needed. This means you can ride at your own pace, with the reassurance that support is always nearby.
In a country where navigation, road conditions, and logistics can be complex, this level of support allows you to access more remote and rewarding routes while maintaining comfort, safety, and peace of mind.

Regular support stops offer fresh local food, proper hydration, and time to relax, ensuring you stay energised throughout the ride.
A Seamless Balance of Adventure and Comfort
Our Vietnam bike tours are designed to combine immersive riding with a high level of comfort throughout the journey.
Each day is carefully planned to balance scenic routes, cultural experiences, and time to relax. Riders stay in carefully selected 4 and 5-star hotels and enjoy regional Vietnamese cuisine that reflects the diversity of the country.
From airport transfers to daily logistics, every detail is handled, creating a journey that feels effortless without compromising on authenticity or adventure.
One of our signature experiences is the Saigon to Hoi An cycling tour. This multi-day journey begins in Ho Chi Minh City before heading into the countryside and climbing into the Central Highlands. Riders pass through coffee plantations around Da Lat before descending from the mountains toward Vietnam’s spectacular coastline.
Midway through the journey, a rest day by the beach in Cam Ranh offers time to unwind in a beautiful coastal setting before continuing north. The route then follows scenic coastal roads through fishing villages and quiet seaside towns before finishing in the historic streets of Hoi An.
When Is the Best Time for Vietnam Bike Tours?
Vietnam stretches over 1,600 kilometres from north to south, resulting in varied climate conditions across the country.
In general, the best months for Vietnam bike tours are between February and May, and again from September to November. During these periods, temperatures are more moderate and rainfall is lower in many regions.
Central Vietnam often provides particularly favourable conditions in spring and autumn, with warm weather and clear skies that are ideal for both coastal riding and exploring the highlands.

Vietnamese Food and Gastronomy
Cuisine is an essential part of the cycling experience in Vietnam and often becomes one of the highlights of the journey.
Vietnamese food is known for its fresh ingredients, vibrant herbs, and balanced flavours. Meals vary by region, offering a constantly evolving culinary experience as you travel.
Mornings may begin with a traditional bowl of pho or a freshly prepared banh mi. Along the coast, seafood is a highlight, often served just hours after being caught. In the highlands, dishes feature locally grown vegetables, tropical fruits, and some of the country’s finest coffee.
Dining is not just about food, but about connection with places, people, and local traditions.
Culture and Local Life Along the Ride
Vietnam’s culture and welcoming communities make it particularly rewarding to explore by bike.
Travelling at a slower pace allows for meaningful encounters with daily life, from farmers working in rice paddies to children cycling home from school, and fishermen preparing their catch along the coast.
Markets, temples, and roadside cafés offer natural opportunities to pause and engage with local life. These moments, often unplanned, are what define the experience and create lasting memories.
Preparing for a Vietnam Bike Tour
Preparing for a Vietnam bike tour is straightforward for anyone with a moderate level of fitness and a regular cycling routine.
Lightweight clothing, sun protection, and proper hydration are important for riding in Vietnam’s warm climate. On guided tours, high-quality bikes, helmets, and mechanical support are provided, ensuring reliability and comfort throughout the journey.
Beyond physical preparation, the most important mindset is openness, a willingness to explore, experience, and connect with a country that rewards curiosity at every turn.
