This was a genuinely great cycling experience from start to finish with Live Love Ride.
The Saigon-to-Hoi An route is clearly well-designed. There is a real effort to prioritize sightseeing and keep riders away from busy, high-traffic roads, which makes a huge difference in Vietnam.
The variety across the tour is one of its biggest strengths. You move from flat rides in the Mekong Delta to rolling terrain through coffee plantations, then into flatter coastal roads with some gravel sections. The tour finishes in Hoi An, a more tourist-oriented World Heritage city, which works perfectly as a final destination.
What truly elevates this tour is how the guides connect the riding with local life. During several stages, they made a point of stopping at silk-producing family workshops and coffee plantations, giving us real insight into how people live and work in the regions we were cycling through. It never felt staged or rushed, just genuine and respectful. The rides also often started at excellent local coffee shops. Proper coffee, relaxed starts, and a great way to begin long days on the bike.
A big shout-out to the guides, Thay and Ricardo. Their local knowledge, attention to detail, and calm leadership made the whole experience feel smooth and well cared for, both on and off the bike.
Support during the rides was excellent. Water and refueling stops were consistently well planned, with plenty of fresh, natural fruit and coconuts. Exactly what you want in the heat.
Meals were another highlight. Restaurants were carefully selected, with consistently tasty Vietnamese food and influences from Chinese and Thai cuisine. You really get a sense of regional flavors rather than generic tourist fare.
Accommodation was comfortable throughout the tour, with some hotels offering spas, which was a big plus after long days of riding.
Overall, this tour delivers on all fronts: strong route design, excellent logistics, great food, cultural depth, and a genuine sense of place.
I would absolutely go back.
